One of the focal points of the story was the Hatch, the mysterious underground station that contained the Countdown Timer. The Numbers had to be put into a computer every 108 minutes. When the Numbers were not put into the computer in time, a warning issued and the clock numbers turned into Egyptian symbols. Which raised an obvious question: why would a timer clock suddenly turn into ancient Egyptian symbols?Through some amateur Egyptology sleuthing, I translated the symbols to mean:
HE ESCAPES PLACE OF DEATH.
Another story line focal point has been the Frozen Donkey Wheel. Hidden deep below ground, allegedly near a pocket of special energy, in a cold chamber was a wooden gear wheel surrounded by more Egyptian glyphs. I translated those symbols to mean:
OPEN SIDE (EARTH) GATES TO ETERNITIES.
