S6E6 MAJOR FLAW

During the re-watch, I found a fatal flaw in the LOST story telling. This is beyond the griping and growing list of prop continuity errors. It deals with a basic premise of the show and Ben's leadership of the Others. After the Purge, the Others had serious problems giving birth on the Island. We were told that ALL women died during their pregnancies. No one came to term. Ben and the Others recruited Juliet, a fertility expert, to find a way to correct the problem. She failed. This was a major story line for the first several seasons.

When 815 crashed on the Island, only four children survived: Walt, Emma, Zach and Aaron. That is why the Others kidnapped the children - - - they had none in their ranks. Walt and Aaron left the Island. Stewardess Cindy became the chief nanny for Emma and Zach. Throughout the series, we have only seen two children, Emma and Zach, in the Others camps, usually with Cindy.

So who is the NEW child?! There was a third child in the screen when Cindy made her stand protecting Emma and Zach. He is not part of Cindy's defense mechanism. This third child appears slightly younger than Zach which would make his birth on the island during the infertility period where all mothers died before giving birth. An island census finds no third child listed as an Other. It would have been big news, a breakthrough, if the child was born on the island, right? A concrete explanation is needed for this new character.

Is this another ghost child like the one Flocke chased in the jungle? Probably not, because the other ghost child was not a part of the Others camp. Is he a part of the Aija survivors? No, except for Frank, Sun and Ilana's gang, any passengers are still on the Hydra station. Also, the child's clothing reflects long-term Other status.

The unexplained presence of this unknown third child is a real story line flaw.
